Antonio and Estrella are siblings who have spent their entire lives going to sea. Antonio, widely known as “The Tiger,” is a legendary industrial diver who takes on the most grueling and dangerous underwater operations in the Spanish port of Huelva. He’s assisted by Estrella, the only person capable of keeping his restless spirit in check once he returns to dry land, where he feels far less comfortable than in the water. Their already bleak financial reality is pushed to the brink after an accident that casts serious doubt on Antonio’s professional future. But their fate takes a sudden turn when they discover a concealed shipment of cocaine inside the hull of a tanker. Antonio sees this as a chance to finally escape their struggles, but Estrella has serious doubts. One great strength of this suspenseful thriller lies in the intense relationship between the two protagonists, portrayed by the formidable Antonio de la Torre and Bárbara Lennie. Honored at the San Sebastián Film Festival for its cinematography, the film masterfully delivers both narrative tension and a sense of the visceral, demanding nature of industrial diving.
