Set in the 1990s in the South of France, the film follows Charlotte and Liza, two best friends who prove that opposites really do attract. Their lives are driven by music and a shared dream of freedom, embodied by Paris – the city where they hope to launch their stage careers. Their desire to escape their small, provincial town intensifies as right-wing ideology starts taking hold of the community. For rebels and dreamers like Charlotte and Liza, the atmosphere starts to become stifling. But life throws a brutal wrench in their plans, leaving a dream shared by two to be carried out by only one. In her debut feature, Caroline Deruas Peano crafts an emotionally charged portrait of teenage friendship and the precarious transition into adulthood.
