POLITICAL FICTION

INGEN KOMMENTAR

2025 / 89 min / color

Petter Næss’s latest film takes place at a high-stakes political crossroads, just before a general election. Norway’s incumbent Prime Minister Alma Solvik is confident of victory — her party commands a significant lead in the polls. But suddenly her political future is jeopardized: a story breaks in the media that exposes a series of lucrative stock market transactions her husband conducted during her tenure. A scandal looms large, and a ruthless spin doctor is brought in to lead a crisis team whose sole mission is to silence the story – or at least bury it until the ballots are cast. Inspired by the real-life political firestorm surrounding former Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg and her husband Sindre Finnes, Næss delivers a pointed satire of the political elite. The film portrays the political establishment as a group of opportunists willing to sacrifice any principle to retain power. In this sharp, humorous, and strikingly universal critique, moral integrity and core values are dropped completely in a desperate, chaotic race against the clock.
